Douglas County Libraries is proud to present Erik Larson at the new Lone Tree Arts Center.

Tickets go on sale August 1 through the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons St. (Lone Tree), 720-509-1000. VIP Wine Reception, 6 p.m., $60 (includes appetizers, wine, VIP presentation seating, and a copy of In the Garden of Beasts). Author presentation only, 7:30 p.m., $15, general admission.

Larson is the author of three New York Times bestsellers, including The Devil in the White City, which remained on the Times‘ lists for over three years. His latest book, In the Garden of Beasts, arrived on shelves in May, 2011. Larson is popular with lovers of both fiction and non-fiction, and remarkable in his engaging telling of stories that academic historians might leave in the footnotes.

Larson's visit is the first installment in a special author series that will bring you events featuring award-winning authors for adults, kids and young adults. The series will continue in March, 2012, with New York Times bestselling author Jane O'Connor, writer of more than 30 books for children, including the insanely popular Fancy Nancy series. The series’ young adult author is to be announced, and will appear in late spring, 2012.
